About the Team

Workday’s Security Assurance Organization is tasked with the responsibility of the delivery of technical solutions and standards. We empower Workday’s Product and Technology teams to rapidly deploy secure software!
About the Role
This role's charter is to help develop Security standards, tools, and frameworks with the goal of reducing the number of security fixes late in the development cycle while also providing increased efficiency for Workday’s Product and Technology teams. You will be working in a rapidly moving microservices ecosystem that supports a wide variety of languages and build tooling. You will also be driving the adoption of these security tools and techniques!
Responsibilities include:
  • Partner with application service teams to develop and implement application security standards, patterns and guidelines that support ongoing deliveries and promote a "shift left" Security mentality.
  • Embed secure-by-design and secure-by-default into standard working practices and technologies including supporting threat modelling activities across the Workday development community.
  • Review the design and efficiency of application security controls and develop a program of continuous security improvement relating to SDLC.
  • Support and grow the maturity of the application security program through partnerships on Workday key business initiatives.
  • Improve in-house security tooling and solutions.
  • Educate, and support Workday to understand the changing application security threat landscape.
  • Stay ahead of industry technology and business trends. Actively drive product technology and engineering process innovation to help Workday be a leader in Security.
About You
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid understanding of Information Security concepts, tools and standards.
  • Good knowledge of common vulnerabilities in application software with practical experience of how to defend against these vulnerabilities.
  • Experience with security tools for SAST, DAST, IAST or Fuzzing.
  • Practical knowledge of enterprise software development with skills in at least one modern application or system programming language e.g., Java, Scala, Kotlin, Golang, Rust, python.
  • Has the ability to own the successful delivery of security solutions with partners in many organizations.
  • Knowledge of deploying applications using containers and/or Kubernetes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to successfully communicate and promote the Security agenda with key business partners.
Other Qualifications
  • Practical knowledge of Linux systems.
  • Experience in scripting languages (Bash, Python, Ruby etc.)
